The National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan took part in a marathon on 4 June n Dushanbe in the framework of the Second High Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” (June 6-9), as well as in the framework of events on the occasion of Olympic Day (June 23).

The 42.2-kilometer marathon began at the “Sarob” resort in the Varzob district and ended at Navruzgoh in the capital. At a symbolic distance of 6 km, from Said Nosirov Street, 27 to Navruzgoh, Vice Presidents of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan Rahmonzoda Abdullo and Dilshod Nazarov, Secretary General of the LRC Abdullozoda Muhammadsho, Director General of the LRC Mavzuna Chorieva, leadership of the Committee for Youth and Sports, Dushanbe, and representatives of various professions and citizens of foreign countries took part.

Mina Guli thanked the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in particular the Head of State, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon for global initiatives in the field of water issues and all participants of the marathon. He noted that as part of the World Water Marathon, which began on March 22, Tajikistan has covered more than 9 marathons along the Zeravshan, Amu, Panj, Vanj and Varzob rivers. The World Marathon will run until March 2023, ahead of the UN Conference on Water Resources in New York, in other parts of the world.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and local authorities in Dushanbe, Mina Guli was presented with souvenirs.
