Tajikistan athletes in Sughd Region receive scholarships

A total of 130 athletes, coaches and veterans of sports were awarded scholarships by the State authority of Sughd Region in Tajikistan last Friday, April 10.

The chairman of Sughd Region, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, handed out the scholarships - a certificate of merit and cash prizes - at a ceremony held in the hall of the executive body of the state authority in Sughd Region.

Ahmadzoda expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the athletes from the Sughd region and revealed that improved facilities would be provided to athletes as well as a more favourable environment and conditions.

Last year, the region’s athletes participated in 150 national and international competitions and performed honourably.

Sughd Region is one of the three provinces that make up Tajikistan.
