National Boxing Competition

The National Boxing Competition reportedly held from 31st March to April 3, 2019, in Dushanbe.

This top sporting event brought together 111 boxers in 10 teams, including 82 men and 29 women from five regions of the country. The competitors fought each other in accordance with 13 weight categories (8 weight categories for men, and 5 weight categories for women). As a result, the boxers from Dushanbe swept to victory over their opponents from Khatlon and Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Regions in 10 weight categories.
Such top national competitions are held every year within the country in order to identify the young talented athletes in view of their selection to participate in further Olympic games and world boxing championships.
